Edith Mary Winifred Lewis (nee: Arnold),better known as Freda or Nan died on 16th November 2004 aged 90.
Nan used to run a nursery that me and my siblings attended. It was situated right next to the Racecourse in Hereford so when there were race meetings on a weekday we used to be able to see the horses sprinting past.
Nan lived in Barrs Court Road, Hereford most of her life.
She celebrated her 90th Birthday in the May and it was in November she passed away.
Nan was very outgoing and loved children. She would get children involved in many activities be it in the garden or indoors and was a superb baker. Nan loved making pies and cakes and if a child was around at the time would get them involved as well. She loved the sun and would be in it whenever she could.
I am sure it was that fact that she had children around her that kept her so young at heart and bubbly.
Nan will be missed by many, friends and relatives.
Sorry
A wife, a mother, a Nana too,
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you've earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.
